Meet PJ – our Training Lead. In the training team, he helps coordinate training and will be happy to discuss our our training with you. He’s had experience being with the Samaritans, as well as work experience as a trainer in different environments as well.
What is the best thing about working at an organisation like this.
Really feeling like my work makes a direct impact and difference in people’s lives. I love working with the team as well; it all makes for a great environment to work in.
Which part of the job has given you most enjoyment? Or are you most proud of?
I enjoy speaking with potential contacts about our courses; as I’m particularly proud and believe in the courses that we do, I love being able to share my enthusiasm with our clients.

What are you looking forward to in the year ahead?
I’m looking forward to all things new and exciting! Being part of a dynamic, ever-changing team, where everyone’s enthusiasm and ideas are supported are sure to generate further opportunities to help out here at Grassroots.
What will you take and keep from lockdown?
I feel like I’ve been better at reaching out to friends and family during lockdown, and stopped worrying about whether it would be “strange” if I just reached out to someone who I haven’t in months or years. I hope to continue keeping in touch better with people.
I also learned how to make cheesecake and bake simple cakes; very simple cakes!
And what will you gladly leave in lockdown?
Not going out on holidays outside the country. I’ve missed being able to go back to Canada for visits, or even random holidays to Europe.
How do you relax?
Reading, travel, video games, box sets, going for walks.
Favourite sandwich filling?
Pesto and Mozzarella.
