Our practical workshop offers a holistic approach to building mental health resilience, equipping participants with the knowledge and skills to support themselves and their colleagues effectively.
Learners develop practical skills to effectively support colleagues experiencing mental health challenges, and strengthen their resilience and self-care strategies. Following the course they are able to contribute to a supportive and inclusive workplace where mental health is prioritised.
Learning outcomes
- Explain what mental health, ill-health, recovery are and their impacts in the workplace.
- Identify common mental health conditions and possible signs of suicide ideation.
- Develop skills for compassionate and effective communication regarding mental health concerns and suicidality including seeking help for ourselves.
- Manage relevant-to-role situations involving someone experiencing mental health problems with scenarios involving intersectionality.
- Know how and where to sensitively signpost to appropriate services.
- Ways to debrief and build resilience after a challenging experience such as supporting a colleague with PTSD, suicidality, high stress.
- Learn strategies for self-care and supporting yours, service users and colleagues’ mental wellbeing.
