Around 20 people die by suicide every day in the UK. Your steps can help change that. Set your own challenge, get active, and raise funds for life-saving support this summer.
Take on your own step challenge and fundraise for suicide prevention anytime between May and August 2026. Walk, jog, run or dance your way to making a difference, while boosting your own wellbeing along the way.
Ready to make a difference? Just follow these three simple steps to get started:
Set a step goal that works for you, whether that’s daily steps, a total target, or a personal milestone, and take part solo or with friends, family, or colleagues, wherever you like.
Daily target – e.g. 4,000 steps a day throughout July
Roughly 40m of walking. Take the scenic route home, fit in a post-lunch wander, or give the dog an extra lap.
Monthly total – e.g. 225,000 steps in June
Think woodland walks, lunchtime strolls, dog walks, and evenings outdoors. Small moments that add up and do you good too.
One-off event – e.g. a 30,000-step sponsored walk
Take on a bigger adventure with a full-day hike, long-distance trail, or sunrise-to-sunset walk. Push yourself, bring friends along, and make it a challenge to remember.
Team challenge – e.g. 1.5 million steps as a team by the end of July
Pool your steps and go further together. From park runs to lunchtime laps, every step counts towards something meaningful.
Make it your own and get creative! Every step makes a difference.

You can raise as little, or as much as you want.
Most smartphones track steps automatically using apps like Apple Health or Google Fit, as long as you have your phone with you. You can also use a wearable device such as a Fitbit or Apple Watch.
No, you don’t have to walk! The challenge is all about getting active in a way that works for you. You can walk, jog, run, dance, skip, or take part in any activity that helps you move more. Set your own goal, track your progress, and take on the challenge at your own pace while raising funds for suicide prevention.
Anyone can take part. The challenge is open to individuals of all ages and abilities. However, we ask that anyone under 18 takes part with a parent or guardian who registers on their behalf.
Whether you’re taking part on your own, with friends, family, or as a team, you can set a goal that works for you and get involved in a way that feels right.
