We wanted you to be the first to see our new street art design coming to a street in Brighton soon!
Last week, Discount Sticker Printing, a custom sticker and label printing company, offered to print us thousands of stickers and a banner.
Our lives have been temporarily turned upside down by the coronavirus pandemic. We are all taking unprecedented measures to protect our physical health and that of the wider public. It’s important that we follow the measures that have been put in place.
These are very challenging times indeed – and from the hoarding of scarce necessities to amazing acts of kindness and compassion, it feels like we have seen both the best and worst of people over the last few weeks.
None of us are immune from suicide. Thoughts of taking one’s own life, sadly affects any: age, gender, class, race and monetary standing.
“We set up Sibling Link after both our brothers suffered with mental ill health and realized – once we had opened up to each other, how important it was to talk – especially to someone who understands what how distressing it can be to watch or help a sibling go through this.
We are always super grateful to all of our fundraisers because they enable us to do the work we do and are a great way of spreading awareness for suicide prevention.
Suicide, a subject which many are too afraid to discuss but is sadly becoming more and more common.
Last month we delivered a Real Talk suicide prevention workshop at the Sea View Centre in Hastings. We ran the session for 15 community members, enabling them to have open and honest conversations about suicide.
For me, a turning point was when I realised that the secret that I had held so buried and precious for so long, had slowly reached the place where I now both wanted and needed to acknowledge and talk about it.
For some reason, people think you can’t talk about suicide unless you’ve felt suicidal. Similarly, there is huge misconception (quite often) that if anyone speaks about suicide, they themselves are suicidal…
Suicide wasn’t something I’d been directly exposed to until a close friend of mine told me he’d tried to take his own life.
