Ben Raemers’ passion for life and skating was contagious, matched only by his skill. At 13, he petitioned his local council to build a skatepark. At 18, he was competing professionally and grabbing attention from the biggest skate brands in the world. At 25, he won ‘King of the Road’, one of the toughest skatebording comps in America.
Phoebe is a final year student studying to be a Mental Health Nurse. She is also a keen runner and has signed up to support Grassroots in the London Half Marathon and the Brighton Half Marathon as a member of the Grassroots Runners.
Raquel is a Grassroots Suicide Prevention supporter and fundraiser who has appeared in our blog before. She is always keen to support us and to spread the message of suicide prevention far and wide. She set herself the challenge of fundraising for us through an amazing 40 events in a year!

Paris Hoxton got in touch with Grassroots during the recent 2.6 challenge. She kindly supported the event by performing 26 tap jumps… Not only is she a keen tap dancer but she also writes the rather marvellous blog www.onewayoranother.co.uk which deals with Mental Health and the arts.

On 16 May 2019, Grassroots was proud to receive a GSK IMPACT Award at a ceremony at the Science Museum in London along with 9 other charities.
